Students participating at the workshops will learn many different aspects of Arabic percussion including:
Techniques from the different regions of the Middle East
How to play for a belly dancer
The art of the drum solo (This will include learning a full composition)
Odd time signatures in Arabic percussion.
Trance drumming and an explanation on frame drums.
Workshops are aimed at Intermediate level upwards. There is also an opportunity for dancers to pick up some tips for working with live drummers.
Please direct correspondence to adriana@bellywood.com.au as I don't check this site regularly & it may be a while before you receive a response if you only leave me a message on tribe!
